Reactions to Sue Cooper Ideas

These are depictions of older people one would like to get to know – they are engaging. Presented as having an enormous capacity for life and fun – viewed with respect and kindliness – without a hint of sentimentality. A working title that comes to mind is ‘Through a glass brightly’ – the rainbow prism of time and ageing as seen by the artist – a refreshing ‘’why not?’’ attitude that anarchically and playfully deconstructs stereotypes, replaced by positive and life-enhancing images

Sue has a heart-felt passion for the old. Admires and loves their individuality, character and humour. Each person is closely and affectionately Observed Created from the heart,  she breathes life into each member of her extended family which evolve as they are formed but not conforming.
